Xoft Closes Series D Round At $33.2 Million

FREMONT, CA -- Medical device maker Xoft Inc. announced the close of its fourth round of funding, receiving a total of $33.2 million from eleven investors.

The company makes a cancer radiation treatment device designed to help reduce recurrence of breast cancer.  The device uses a miniaturized X-ray source that can deliver targeted radiation to specific areas.

Proceeds will be used to expand manufacturing and sales and marketing.  Investors include MPM Capital, Sutter Hill Ventures, Maverick Capital, Frazier Healthcare Ventures and Easton Capital, among others.
